Sheepish Grins Liquid Lanolin
Sheepish Grins liquid lanolin is much easier to use than solid lanolin. It disperses quickly in soapy water so there are no goopy lumps. It is simple to use and you can lanolize your wool covers in no time.
Simply add a small amount of warm (not hot) water to a bowl or sink basin. Add a squirt or two of baby shampoo or wool wash to help the lanolin mix into the water. Swirl it around, add enough warm water to submerge the cover. Then add your wool soaker or longies. Squish them a few times to make sure the water goes through them. You don't want to agitate, wring or move them around too much because too much action can cause them to felt or shrink.
Allow them to soak for 20-30 minutes, then drain the water out with the soaker still in the bowl. Gently squeeze out the water, then lay the wool soaker flat on a towel.
Roll it up in the towel to gently press the water out. Spread the soaker flat to dry. Shape the soaker to the right size since it will dry the way it is shaped. Let the soaker dry at least 12 hours and you are ready to go!
Two or four ounces of pharmaceutical grade lanolin.
